Q: How long will it take to groom my dog?
A: Grooming your dog can vary in time, anything from one hour – three hours depending on your dogs breed, size and requested style of cut.
Short haired dogs only requiring a bath can take up to one hour due to the drying time.
Most small to medium breeds requiring a clip or trim can take on average one and a half hours, to two hours depending on the style you have requested.
Larger breeds like St Bernard’s, Newfoundland’s and Long Haired Alsatians can take two to three hours. It takes longer as there is more hair to wash and dry.

Q: Can I stay with my dog at the salon?
A: We advise our customers not to stay at the salon. Dogs tend to try and get to their owners if they sense or see that their owner is there, making the grooming process longer for the dog. However should you be really nervous about leaving your dog for the first time we do have a waiting area in the reception. Due to insurance purposes we cannot allow customers into the grooming areas.

Q: How often can i have my dog bathed?
A: It is recommended that you do not bath your dog anymore than once every 4-6 weeks as bathing your dog too often can wash out all the essential oils needed in the coat.

Q: When can I start bringing my puppy into the grooming salon?
A: You can start bringing your puppy into the salon as soon as it has had all its vaccinations and your veterinarian has informed you when its safe to go out.
We do advise to start bringing your puppy into the grooming salon as soon as it has had its vaccinations to allow it to get used to the new sounds, smells, people, and being away from its owner. Clipping your puppy can be done but not recommended, this is because puppies like to play.

Q: What kind of shampoos do you use?
A: All our shampoo’s are mild to help prevent skin problems. We do use tea tree shampoo for skin that is irritable or flaky and flea shampoo used if required.

Q: My veterinarian has given me medicated shampoo for my dog; can you use it when bathing?
A: Yes of course we can, we are happy to use shampoo’s that have been prescribed by your vet for your dog.

Q: Is there anything you need to know about my dog before I bring it into the grooming salon?
A: Yes, we will ask you if your dog suffers from any heart conditions, if he/she is blind or deaf, any skin allergies and if your dog is nervous. We ask these questions so that we can make sure your dog is relaxed as possible, re-assured and feels safe, so as not to compound any medical conditions.
